Monthly Reflections: March
Welcome to my monthly reflections! This is where I get personal, sharing my monthly highs and lows of running my business as a solo founder, whilst navigating life as a girl in her 30s, who loves to not take life too seriously whilst also having existential thoughts most days. This is my 8 for March.
What I’m Loving
I’ve started two new exercise programmes this month and I am loving them! I feel like every couple of years I get the urge to mix it up and do something different so I’ve just joined Form and The Sculpt Society to have a bit more variety and I so enjoying it.
What I’m Grateful For
Friends 💗 There has been a lot going on in my life the last few weeks and I just feel so incredibly grateful for my friends.
What I’m Reading
I’ve just started Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection by Deb Dana which is a collection of client practices to help regulate the nervous system. The nervous system is incredible, and I feel like there is a lot more information out there now about how to support and regulate yourself. I’m excited to dive into this and learn even more about how to support my clients!
My Upcoming Goals
Personal: I want to get back into weekly breathwork. I was doing this religiously last year and loving it then decided to take a break, and I can really feel a pull towards it. I get so many breakthroughs and reassurance through it.
Business: My podcast!! Season 3 coming soon… just in the planning stages so thinking about who to have on as a guest but I’m excited to get it going again. You can listen to the first two seasons here.
A Challenge I’ve Faced
Something I’ve been really reflecting on recently is how I want to connect more with people on social media and have two-way conversations, there can be something quite one-sided about it, but I don’t want it to be that way! I’m really thinking about how I can drive conversation, really create content that helps and that matters, and build a community around that. Any thoughts or suggestions I am all ears!
Monthly Win
Booked a holiday!! This might not sound like a win but it is to me, after weeks of umming and ahhing where to go and only having a small window in May, we have finally booked somewhere and I can’t wait to have a break and get away for a while. This is your reminder that resting and taking a break is so important!
Client Breakthrough
I was speaking with my client about her desire to start a business and the pressure she was putting on herself to do it. Through exploring this and her beliefs she was able to recognise that she felt the only way to be successful would be to have her own business. I know this might not sound like a block but unconsciously this was stopping her fulfilling her potentially and making her feel really bad about being in a job at the moment (which side note, she was enjoying). We spoke about how it isn’t about going the opposite way and saying having a business doesn’t matter but instead about separating the two – i.e. the only way to achieve success isn’t only through having her own business but there are SO many ways! Can you recognise the abundance and possibilities this unlocks?
Favourite Meal
March has actually been a big month for having people over, so I wanted to share some of my go-to recipes I’ve been cooking. Chicken larb with my take on a papaya salad – it isn’t that easy to find a papaya, so I sub it for thinly sliced cucumber, carrots and red onion. These two with some rice is one of my fav meals! I also made this ginger mocktail to go with it
Have a lovely month and I’ll see you in 2025 for my 8 for April!
